Quinta Vale do Bragão is located in the oldest demarcated region in the World – the Douro. Owned by the Borges Costa family since the XVIII century, with approximately 30 hectares of vineyards, Quinta Vale do Bragão has been run throughout all these years by several generations which have provided continuity to this family project. At the helm today is Maria Virgínia Borges Costa which counts in her management team with the support of the family, both in the production of fortified wines as well has, more recently, in the production of table wines. The result is end products of premium quality, allying the experience of previous generations with new production techniques, to answer the new challenges of the market. Thus immersed in a great passion, the wines of Quinta Vale do Bragão foretell a lasting and promising future.
Quinta Vale do Bragão, with 30 hectares of land, is equipped with a modern cellar, warehouse, laboratory and tasting room – all that is necessary for the production of high quality wines. Our vineyards are predominantly planted by grape variety, taking into account their solar exposure and altitude. The main grape varieties used are touriga nacional, touriga franca, tinta roriz, tinta barroca and tinto cão. As for the white grape varieties used, they are viozinho, códega de larinho and arinto, beyond various other grapes (31) from old vines. The vineyards in Quinta Vale do Bragão are located at between 80 and 500 metres in altitude.
Quinta Vale do Bragão has, throughout its history, relied on the collaboration of successive generations. Since mid XVIII century to today, the experience of the eldest has been combined with the energy of the youngest in a harmony which results in high quality wines.
